Hello, My name is Annecke and I am a single 23 year old student living in Calgary. I am originally from South Africa and so my first language is Afrikaans. I have however grown up with English teachers my entire life resulting in English being my dominant language. I love art, dancing, interacting with people, and making people smile. I have a passion for art and communications and this is why I am studying both at the University of Calgary. During the summer I am available full time and during the school year I am available Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays along with the occasional weekend. I am very involved within Centre Street Church and my faith is something very important to me. I believe that it shapes me not only into who I am, but also into who I want to become. I have always loved children and because of this I started babysitting the moment I was old enough. The only way I can truly explain how I interact with children is, instinct. When I see a child my instinct is to care for them, protect them, and make them smile as much as possible. I started babysitting the moment I turned 12, which was the age my parents believed was suitable for me to start caring for children responsibly. Ever since then I have been the babysitter that many moms trust and that others have sought out. I care for the children in a way that a family member would and make sure that they are looked after in a protected, fun, and clean environment. I have babysat children from infancy up to the age of 10. The hours have ranged from full days to a few hours and I have always been asked to return by the people I have babysat for. I have babysat for one family in particular since their first daughter was 3 and their second was a newborn. I consider both girls to be family and I loved caring for them as they grew older. To this date I have only had the title of babysitter but I am eager to start my days as a nanny where I can focus my attention on one family and be the support they need regarding their child/children's upbringing. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I am looking for a position in which I can assist a family with as much as they need. I would love for the focus to be on assistance with raising a child/children but am more than comfortable to also maintain the environment in which the child is being raised.

I have succesfully completed both the babysitters course and the first aid and CPR courses that accompanied it. I am also currently a student at the University of Calgary getting my degree in Communications. I had switched from elementary education to the Communications program only because I had decided to get my degree in Communications before aiming to receive my degree in elementary education.
