I work as a school and student support worker with children with developmental disabilities during the school year; it is a job that I love and am passionate about. I adore working one-on-one with a child and supporting them to discover the way they learn and grow to their fullest potential. I have been a babysitter for multiple families that are close friends of my family for a number of years. I have the pleasure to watch their children grow and learn. I even had four of the little girls as my (adorable) flower girls in my wedding. I have worked at the Crisis Centre on the suicide and distress phone line and chat service since 2010. I have learned how to listen and support someone in their most troubling times; I have developed active listening skills as well as the way to convey empathy. You would be amazed how helpful it can be to simply say, "I understand what you are going through, " to someone. I hope to one day return to school one day to get my masters in either counselling psychology or social work. I want to work with children and/or youth in a hospital setting. I have been married to a wonderful man for nearly three years, and we are coming up on our ten year anniversary together. We hope to start on our family in the next year or two. Due to my genetic disorder we are starting our IVF journey as well as looking for a surrogate. I struggled with dsylexia while I was in school and I couldn't read independently til I was 9. However, my parents read to me every night and thus I developed and deep love for stories. I adore reading now, and I love reading stories to the children I work with whenever I can. I received my bachelor's degree in theatre, and I love to play make believe with the girls I babysit for. I often play theatre games when I am given the opportunity to lead classes.

I work as a school and student support worker with children with developmental disabilities for the Vancouver School Board. I have worked as a babysitter for over 10 years. One of the families that I have been babysitting for the longest has three children; their oldest was two and a half when I first started babysitting for them; their middle child was one. Now, their oldest is eight, their middle child is five, and their youngest is nearly two.
