Hello, My name is Shohta. I am looking for a position as a caregiver for the elderly and I feel confident providing all aspects of care for children and the elderly. I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue my work with people in need. I am currently attending a private vocational school, TLC-Edmonton Training for Foreign Caregivers. TLC-Edmonton is a Government registered program, where I am learning about nutrition, cooking, communication, CPR and First Aide and care for; infants, children, the elderly and the disabled. I love continually learning new skills in my work with people and have extensive experiences in this field. I also enjoy activities such as cooking, drawing, reading, physical activity, and self development. For over ten years I have been playing the piano and continually find myself playing piano for others to enjoy.

I cared for toddlers and preschool aged children in the context of my volunteer opportunities; I provided care for children ages from 2 to 13 in University and a YMCA nursery school. I What I bring to my work is my musical experience, organization skills, dedication to my job and most of all my sensitivity and love for children. I am a committed and reliable worker and I love continually learning new skills in the challenging work with children. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I am a recreational concert pianist and can teach the piano to beginners and intermediate players. I have an Industrial Counseling Certification.

I am currently completing the in-home Training at TLC-Edmonton. This 7 month training course provides me with training in CPR/First Aid Safely, Nutrition, Cooking, Child Development, Guiding Young Children and Communication Skills. In addition to the school, I studied in a university in Japan where I obtained the certificate of a Child Guidance Worker. I also took classes in Educational Psychology, Physiology and Pathology of Children with Special Needs, Basic Skills for Childhood Physical Education, and Health. My theoretical and practical training prepares me well for the work with children.
