I have raised my own large family and my young grandchildren live far away so would love helping you out with your children, pets, and home. Young and energetic grandma who loves to read to children, bake, teach, play and go for outings of all kinds. I am very willing to work with your priorities and use your child-rearing methods. I am available for anything and everything to help you and your family enjoy a peaceful, fun and organized life, from preparing delicious meals and snacks to organizing closets and walking your small dog, helping with homework and supervising music practice. I have loved working with children and youth of all ages for many years, volunteering in the community, church and schools. I have been a professional nanny for over 6 years helping all kinds of families with a wide range of needs. I have done everything from administering medications, diaper changing, naps, story time, lots of outings, library visits, delicious meals, from scratch soups, muffins, cookies and teaching the older ones to bake, children’s laundry and keeping the house tidy and clean. Helping the children manage their emotions and making good choices to making up outrageous stories, (the sillier and crazier the better) singing, dancing with the babies, which they love and dealing with the inevitable squabbles, tears and joy, is all in a day's work.. I am a Former Special Care Foster Mom caring for children in my home coming out of extreme circumstances, helping them feel loved and safe. I have training and experience dealing with not only the children but their parents and the referring agencies. I am a Former private piano instructor and have taught in my home for several years. Along with my varied professional experience I have also raised my own grown children and am loving being a long distance grandparent. I have also volunteered for over 30 years from preschool age children to Young Adults, teaching ethics, singing, handbell choir, baking, crafts, reading and going on every kind of field trip imaginable. I enjoyed spending an entire week on two separate occasions with my children at the Calgary Zoo zoo school. I have also been a Girl's Camp Counsellor for girls aged 12-18. All of this wealth of experience has taught me that children come to earth with a unique set of gifts, talents, struggles and personalities. It is our responsibility to help them discover their unique gifts and to enable them to live a rich full life, one in which they will have contributed to the greater good of humanity.
