I was born in China but came to Canada when I was only 1 year old. I am fluent in spoken Cantonese, Toisan, and English. I like to go out for karaoke in my free time and it is still my dream to one day learn how to play a musical instrument. The Erhu is an instrument I needed to play since it is melodiously expressive; perfect for communicating feelings of joy, delight, energy, distress, aching, despairing, pity. It has regularly been portrayed as the instrument whose sound is nearest to the human voice. Listening to erhu tunes, the Chinese can connect with every one of their sentiments ever experienced in their long tumultuous history. I did take lessons in erhu but because I did not think that I would have much opportunity to play it outside of the lessons and around the house, I stopped. So I am thinking about picking up the guitar or piano. I have been a tea taster for the past 15 years and part of my duties also included cleaning the reception area, storage room, and laboratory. I dusted and wiped counters, mopped and swept the floor, wiped down electronics and phones, as well as kept the office organized (ie. bankers boxes of files, office supplies, storage supplies etc. ) I have also worked for 4 years as a tutor/teacher for primary school students in the following subjects: math, assertiveness training / life strategies, visualization techniques, reading, writing, vocabulary.

I was hired as a tutor and then promoted to class instructor in only one month at the U-Candu Learning Centre. I also taught at Agape-Charis Learning Centre. I taught primary school students for 4 years in the following subjects: math, assertiveness training / life strategies, visualization techniques, reading, writing, and vocabulary. My responsibilities included: Promoting the intellectual, physical, and emotional growth of children. Redirect inappropriate behavior by the appropriate measures. Highlight skills developed, behaviours observed, activities participated in, and specific achievements to parents through written progress reports and verbal communication. After a very thorough and rigorous interview, I was accepted by Big Brothers, Big Sisters to be a Big Sister but because of the financial obligations and implications that come with being a Big Sister if we were ever to go to court involving the child, I could not accept the offer. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I am looking for a cash job only.

I have an Honours Bachelor's Degree majoring in Political Science and Urban Studies. I have a TESL Ontario Certificate. I am a Certified Tea Sommelier. Received Honour Roll Distinction. Received Ontario Scholar Distinction. Received Business Endorsement Certificate Received Scholastic Achievement Award in Notemaking.
