My name is Emma Maria but I mostly go by Maria. I graduated from a small high school in 2014 with plans to pursue an elementary school teacher. I am currently working in retail (which has helped me acquire a LOT of patience) but I am looking to work full time, Monday through Friday. hours doing what I enjoy most; working with children. I was a peer tutor from Grade 10-12and loved being a role model for the younger grades. I was able to develop relationships with students outside the classroom and learned how to interact with students of all ages. After high school, I moved to Alberta for 6 months and volunteered regularly in my father's grade 5 class. I was required to keep students on task, help them with any homework, organize activities and occasionally I was assigned to work one on one with struggling students. Besides school environments, I have been babysitting/volunteering with children since I was 11 years old. I worked at a church soccer camp for children ages K-5 and on Sunday's I am often in the nursery with infants and toddlers. Taking care of young children, especially infants is rewarding but sometimes challenging. Over the years, I have developed special techniques that prove useful in calming young babies especially those that can be a little more fussy. I have worked with children from 2 months to 9 years old and understand that every child is different. I have learned the ability to care for each child individually while paying close attention to the needs of the group. I tend to be quite structured and find that it helps give children an opportunity to follow a schedule and learn and understand discipline. I believe in creating a positive happy environment for children, one in which where they feel safe and can thrive. Recently, I completed a CPR and First Aid training course as I believe such knowledge is important, especially for a nanny, and can be a life saver in case of injury or accident. Previous employers have asked me to help out around the house as well. I don't mind cleaning or cooking or any extra housework that may need to be done. Outside of work, I am extremely social. I love my friends and family to no end-that includes my 8lb maltese and rescue cat- and can always be found at coffee shops or dinners (I will be the one with the loud laugh). I love to meet new people and am always up for anything new. I would love to add to your family and hope you will give me a chance to meet you and discuss your family's needs.

I worked as a nanny for two girls aged Newborn & 2 years old until for 3 years. I was required to change diapers, prepare meals, bathe them and organize daily activities. Once a week while they napped, I did a deep clean of the house; scrubbed showers/bathtubs, vaccuumed floors/couches, cleaned mirrors/windows, etc. I have babysat children from ages newborn to 9 years old over the years and engaged in activities such as swimming, skating, bowling and many more. I also volunteered as a coach at a church summer soccer camp for kids aged K-5.
