Year Experience

I am currently attending my first year of the Mount Saint Vincent University’s Bachelor of Education Elementary degree. I am looking for a part-time position while attending the two-year program, in an education/child-care oriented field. I have worked and volunteered since the age of 16, so I have a large variety of work and interpersonal experience. Having spent many years in retail, I have developed a keen sense of detail and excellent organizational skills. I am very confident in my customer care and managerial ability, having spent years in a Cost and Production Accounts Management role while also training new staff in customer service positions. I am proficient in administration duties including; invoicing, purchasing, month-end/year-end reporting, and data entry. In the last year I have volunteered with Halifax North’s Public Library, as a student tutor. I have also taken on a role at the Halifax South Girl Guides Organization, as a Brownie leader and unit treasurer. I am therefore also confident in my ability to supervise and instruct children in many subject areas. My past work experience combined with my current study, as well as my Business Management degree from Dalhousie University, has rewarded me with a strong work ethic and the ability to learn new strategies quickly.
