I have been a community psw with Saint Elizabeth Health care for 2 years, but here's why: What started my passion for caregiving was a small moment that put an imprint on my heart forever. I was about 12 a boy about 7 had come camping with his nana. The boy had been in a tragic accident losing his parents and his hearing. A month or so earlier I had just taught myself the letters in sign language, I thought it would be neat to communicate differently. I went up to the vehicle as I always did to meet the campers (my parents were not fluent in french so my duties were to speak with the french clients so they could feel more comfortable, speaking in mother tongue) and the boy sadly looked at me with tears in his eyes and shook his head no. I quickly remembered how to spell out hello. And when I did the boy almost jumped out of the car. He finally had someone he could talk to, I only knew the alphabet but it made his world. This was the warmest fuzziest most rewarding feeling I had ever received and I knew I wanted to continue making a difference in that kind of way. This is me I love what I do, I could not ask for a better occupation, I know I am young but even my references vouch for me when I say I have found my true calling. I am efficient, professional, as well as flexible yet reliable. I have been a community PSW for 1. 5 years with a variety of different clientele. Thank you for your interest. Lesly Q

As a young teen into adulthood I was a nanny for a farmer and his wife during busy farming seasons. The children were 2 and 4 we played with puppets, read books, went on treasure hunts (i brought a box of different activities every time I went). I grew with the children until they reached the ages of 6-8, when I went off to college. Since my graduation I have been working as a PSW, as well as buffing out my schedule with some much loved childcare. When caring for children I like to have a very hands on approach ; lots of baking.. Bread, cookies, pies ect. (Baking from scratch is a hobby of mine), outdoor playtime is key for socializing, and arts and crafts are a great way to improve fine motor skills. I am a strong believer that the first few years of life are the most important time for questioning learning and discovering. Additional Experiences/Qualifications:
