I have a specialized honours bachelor’s degree in English literature, as well as a certificate in technical writing. I went to York University on a full academic scholarship, and was the recipient of a number of top performance awards along the way. My husband and I live in Cabbagetown with our sweet cat, and my hobbies include knitting, ceramics, reading, travelling, and yoga, to name a few. I’m caring, empathetic, creative, patient, and positive, and I thoroughly enjoy the experience of getting to know children for who they are as individuals. Working with children has been a lifelong love of mine, and most recently I enjoyed working as an English teacher in South Korea with toddlers all the way through to middle schoolers. My work with children began young as a summer camp volunteer where I worked one-on-one with children with autism, which was an absolute joy and a great introduction to childcare in general. In my teenage years I was the neighbourhood babysitter before becoming a regular nanny and pet sitter for two wonderful families in particular while I was in high school and university. I am experienced in working with all ages and energy levels and am very comfortable around pets of any type and size. As a young adult, I have the energy to keep up with rambunctious children while still abiding by the rules set by parents and maintaining a safe environment. I can work flexible hours including late/overnight shifts, and am very punctual and respectful of the schedules of the families I work with.

- Camp for children with disabilities ages 3-10 - Day camp ages 3-14 - Babysitting / pet sitting ages 2-15 - Nanny / housekeeper ages 2-15 - French tutor ages 7-10 - English and preschool teacher ages 4-14

Currently pursuing a bilingual International Bachelor of Arts in English. I was awarded York University's Governor's Award of Distinction: Betty Jean and John M. Banks Entrance Scholarship, their most prestigious scholarship, as well as their residency scholarship for my first year of studies. I am going into my second year this September. I am among the top scholars and have obtained a position as a professor's apprentice through this title.

I volunteered under Molly's supervision in 2014 (which to me feels like forever ago) but the experience I gained is still pertinent to my abilities working with children today. I worked one-on-one as a "buddy" for children with autism and other disorders of the type. My main objective was to integrate them into larger groups of children their age and to make them feel safe enough to act independently without secluding themselves. A high level of attentiveness was essential in this position since these children had the tendency to run off because they were highly sensitive to the heightened levels of stimulation. I loved this position and would greatly welcome a similar experience. My volunteering at this day camp was terminated when we moved. Unfortunately there isn't the option to upload a reference letter but I can provide one upon request.

I have worked as a babysitter for Krystal's two children for over two years now. The little girl was 2 and the boy was 5 when I started working with them. The family has a great dane that I have also petsat. I continue to babysit them only less frequently now that the parents' schedules are becoming more flexible. We found lots of fun activities to occupy our time because the parents had fairly strict no electronics rules. I feel like I've played a large role in the childhoods of these two children and they have definitely made a huge impact on me, I love those little ones!
