Hi. My name is Laura, and I am currently in teachers college looking for part-time employment (can do fulltime throughout the summer). I have two younger brothers (age 13 and 17), a younger sister (age 19) and an older sister, so I have extensive experience with babysitting. I am very passionate about working with kids, and enjoy helping them with school, healthy eating, staying active outdoors, and getting to their extra-curricular activities. I would love a job that enables me to do these things, as well as use my teaching, French, and babysitting skills. I have worked as a babysitter many times to family friends as a teenager (for about 4-5 years in total), as well as being a tutor for children of all ages. I have references available upon request. I would love to utilize my teaching and tutoring skills, as well as my experience and passion for working with children. I am available anytime during the summer, and have very few classes starting in September. Not only have I cared for my three younger siblings as they were growing up through babysitting and helping my parents out, but I also worked as a babysitter and tutor for about 4 years when I was a teenager. I have a lot of experience and am comfortable with changing diapers, bathing, making nutritious meals and snacks, helping with all kinds of homework, and promoting active living. I am also currently in teachers college, so I have experience teaching young adults. I worked at Scholars Education Center in Barrie last summer as a tutor for all ages of kids (beginning at age 3 and ending at age 16). I have even worked with special needs children, which I enjoyed very much. Finally, I have been living alone since I was 19 (6 years total), so I am very comfortable and easy-going with cooking, cleaning, shopping, and any other household errands.

I graduated with honors from McMaster University with a double major in Classics and French, and a minor in History. I have also just completed my first year of teachers college at Brock University. I have won numerous scholarly awards and bursaries, including second place in an essay contest at McMaster and an invitation to join the Golden Key Scholars association for being in the top 20 of my class in my first year.
