My name is Abena . I am 18 years old, and will turn 19 on August 4th. My two older brothers and I were born in Canada but were raised in numerous cities within the United States as well as Accra, Ghana where my family originally comes from. Therefore I definitely have had a quite diversified living experience and love to experience new cultures different from the ones I am familiar with. I come from a big family and can say that I have quite the experience with children as I have looked after younger nieces and nephews every summer and Thanksgiving/Christmas break since the age of 15. I very much so enjoy the company of children and witnessing their growth and development and look forward to meeting and looking after more. My hobbies include reading writing, tap dancing and learning new languages.

In high school I was involved in a tutoring program where I would tutor children once or twice a week. I would follow a lesson plan and tutor them in mathematics, help them with spelling, and help them with their reading skills, which I enjoyed very much as I formed a close bond with the children I worked with. Apart from that and taking care of my younger relatives, I have not had a formal childcare work experience. However, I intend to entertain and help the children grow in any possible way. I plan on doing this by for example, teaching them new things and playing games with them.

For high school I obtained my full International Baccalaureate Diploma at St. Timothy's School, a private boarding school for girls in Baltimore, Maryland. Right now I am entering my second year of university at Queen's University hoping to major in Biology.
