My name is Sierra, I graduated UVic with a Commerce & Entrepreneurship Degree in 2020 and have worked as a Client Specialist for a marketing agency since graduating (graduated during the start of covid so opted for remote work). I am super outdoorsy, love children and have the energy to keep up with them! I also LOVE to cook and get creative with arts/crafts. I am looking to take a break from the corporate world and disconnect from the screens to have a more flexible work life balance and be outdoors more, especially during the summer. Working with children has never felt much like work as they are such lights in the world, and I think that is what I would really enjoy at this point in my life. I don't have children myself but I can only imagine how intense being a parent can be, I would love to help take some stress off your plate and provide your children with another outlet to learn and thrive! Looking forward to hearing from you! Sierra

Training: - Babysitters Course - Childcare First Aid - Bronze Medallion (swimming/lifeguarding achievement) - Valid Drivers Lisence Experience: - Nannied during university for a family and toddler who was just over 1 year old when I started. - After school care for local children in my area. - Variety of summer camp and daycare support with children ranging from ages 1 - 15. - Oldest of many cousins in my family - grew up babysitting + caretaking.

I have graduated UVic with a Bachelors Degree in Commerce with a specification in Entrepreneurship.

Nanny (Infant)
The cutest boy was 18 months when I started and we quickly had a great rapport as the family raised him with use of sign language. Many days spent learning to bike and adventuring around local parks. Snack/Lunch time was filled with music, paw patrol playing and yummy food as I love to cook. I have babysat as a younger pre-teen/teen but this was my first time back nannying as an adult and it completely reignited my love for children and their energy! I am 25 and can certainly keep up!!

Baby Sitting
A variety of families would work with me to rotate houses and ensure a few children were supported after school. Responsibilities included: - Walking children home from school. - Making after school snacks. - Playing with the children outdoors. - Supporting/Facilitating homework. - Prep dinner so family time can commence once parents are home! - *I loved this job, I felt like a big sister for these younger children who went to my school. I was always there to support them if they needed help during or after school. Built strong connections with them all and truly enjoyed the time with them!

Cousin
I am the oldest of 9 cousins in my family with the second oldest being 9 years younger than me. I have grown up around children and loved the responsibility/bonding that came with this. From changing diapers at age 10 to helping my cousins learn to swim in the lake I loved it all! I feel being around babies and young children from such a young age supports a calm understanding of how to be a confident care giver.

My references
Recommended by Joan T.
Joan was the supervisor/coordinator at Vacation Bible School, a children's camp I have worked at for many years.
Recommended by Deb G.
Deb is the mother of a girl who I used to pick up from school, walk back to their house and watch her until the parents got home from their work day. Their family has moved to out of country, so email would be the best way to contact.
