My name is Alexa and I will be living in Vancouver this summer taking an online course at UBC. I am currently in my fifth year of schooling and hoping to get my bachelor of kinesiology by next summer. Along with taking classes at UBC, I also play on the varsity women's ice hockey team. Balancing academics and athletics has taught me the importance of time management that is applicable to any job setting. I grew up in Salmon Arm B. C. and I am the youngest of six children. I have thirteen nieces and nephews and they are my entire world. In the past I have worked many kids camps and hockey schools as a day camp leader and have gained many experiences with babies and school aged children that would be very beneficial for a babysitting position.

In 2012 I babysat two boys ages five and seven for the entire summer. The schedule was from Monday to Friday at 8 am to 4:30 pm. I prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner for the boys and did chores throughout the day. in 2014 I worked as a hockey youth day camp leader at the Okanagan Hockey Academy. I was responsible for leading the children through activities on and off the ice. I was also responsible for bringing them to and from the dining hall while also helping out in the kitchen. I have also done a lot of "informal" babysitting for my four older sisters who have a combined total of 13 kids. All the children are under the age of seven and are very high energy.

I graduated from Penticton high school in 2013. From there I went to The Ohio State University for school/ hockey and was in the education program. In 2016 I transferred back home to Canada and was accepted into the Kinesiology program at UBC. I am hoping to get my degree next summer.
