I am a recent high school graduate saving up for university. I am looking for part-time work that will supplement my full-time job and other babysitting/tutoring jobs. My interests include business, particle and nuclear physics, education, law, culinary arts, theater, gardening, and healthy living. My hobbies are paper flower making, painting, collage, and volunteering. Having immigrated from Ukraine when I was 10, I am familiar with the immigrant experience and the challenges immigrant children face. I am able to provide support to your children and advice to you in the often difficult times this life change can bring. Furthermore, I am fluent in Russian and can understand Ukranian and so can communicate with children versed in those languages/teach children those languages.

I have babysat before, ages 3-10. My duties included supervision, educational entertainment, teaching writing and reading, preparing food, changing diapers, encouraging good personal hygiene habits, and organizing playground walks. I have a younger brother (now aged 12) whom I have been a major caretaker since he was 5 years old. This includes supervision, educational and active outdoors entertainment, food preparation (and teaching how to cook simple meals), encouraging personal hygiene and good study habits, homework help, and meeting emotional needs. I have supervised and entertained children at volunteer projects: Families and Schools Together (F. A. S. T. ) - a 3-month afterschool program that helped connect families with their communities. For this, I prepared food, performed light janitorial duty, organized small group activities, and played with children (volleyball, tower building, arts and crafts). Open Streets Calgary - a special event that aimed to promote environmental responsibility to children. I was in charge of a station where kids would pedal on a bike to generate bubbles. Mainly, I stopped children from sticking fingers into the wheels of the bike (3 tried), kept order of a lineup, and cheered bikers on. Telus Spark: Spring Spectacular - a special event that engaged children in Easter and science related activiies. I was tasked with guiding kids in a big building, dancing/playing with kids, and supervising an arts and crafts area. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Volunteer experience of over 400 hours including work with seniors and the disabled and nearly 200 hours of food preparation. I would prefer a job location that's easily accessible by transit - nw/downtown Calgary is usually best.

Alberta High School Diploma. At least 90 in Chemistry 30, English 30, Math 30 and 31, Social Studies 30, and Physics 30. Honor roll and International Baccalaureate (IB) student. Big focus on business classes: Business and Management IB 10, 20, 30, 31; Financial Management 10, 20, 30; Marketing and Management 101
