| As a nanny, I would like to provide the care for a child that helps them grow, instilling the values in the children that the parents want their child to know when they can not be there. Someone the child looks forward to seeing, like and aunt of sorts. I have always been involved with children, even when I was a child myself. Always looking out for others and trying to make everyone feel happy and well liked. One could say that I am a people pleaser, I take pride in the work I do, and a job well done for me is a child who goes to bed happy.I like to care for a child in a way that allows the child to grow to trust and rely on as a family member in a sort of way. I never intend to take that role but I believe trust is an important asset for a child to have in their Nanny/Babysitter. I do not have any specific discipline techniques, I believe that is up to the parent to decide. I believe the transition from the child seeing the parent and then the nanny should be smooth and comforting, just another caring person in their lives. I hope to be a teacher of sorts to the children I take care of, someone they can talk to if need be. |

I have recently moved to Alberta from Nova Scotia. I am unable to provide any professional references other than family and friends, other positions I have lost touch with over time and from the move. Sorry for the trouble that may cause.
My experience includes, diaper changing, organizing large and small groups of children in activities. Working closely with more difficult children and making them feel accepted and able to work with other groups of children. Making meals according to dietary needs. Staying firm with rules directed by parents. As for housework, I know all the basics of how a house should look but am flexible to any specific details that may need to be followed.
I am a very fast learner, I am confident that if I am shown something I have never done before, I will pick it up quickly and adapt to the environment. |
