I came from a big family of 8 children. Raised by caring and supportive parents who instilled in us good moral values especially honesty and respect. Personally, I can say that I am a caring, patient, well organized, hard-working, honest and trustworthy kind of person. I enjoyed the outdoor (especially taking a walk) but it doesn't mean that I will be bored indoor. I am more of a listener than a talker but leave me with the kids and I can be as talkative as they are. I am single but I love kids. They turned me into a marshmallow but I am firm if necessary. I am not just a nanny but I am a nanny with a passion of contributing something positive to the molding of a child's character. Of course this is all for me to know and for you to find out if you will consider of hiring me. :) Usually I take my cues and feedback first from the parents. Then I study the behaviour and character of the children so I will know how to handle them. I am patient but if needed I am authoritative as well. I play with them and talk to them always because I believe talking and listening to them builds trust and confidence. I always give feedback to parents whether kids did bad or good at the end of the day so parents will know how their kids get by all day. I consider communicating to the parents about the kids' attitudes as very important. why? so, correction, encouragement and development of the kids well-being will be implemented.

First Employer: I took care of a 5 year old boy then when I started working as a nanny. Part of my job were light housekeeping, preparing the kid's meals, and taking him to the park everyday. It also included cooking sometimes. When he was 7 years old, his sister was born so my work changed a little bit. I prepared the boy for school. preparing his breakfast and packed his lunch, taking him and picking him up at the school bus stop and play with the kids until the parents come home. Since the parents were both working, the girl was left under my care all day. I took care of her since birth until she was 18 months old. Second Employer: It was a shared nanny set-up wherein I took care of 2 kids(boy-21 mos. old & girl-15 months old). I started taking care of them when the boy was 14 months & the girl was 10 months old. They both learned to walk under my care. It was my responsibility to give them healthy snacks and lunch everyday. Children's routine were observed since they were in a developmental stage. Teaching them skills appropriate for their ages to develop and enhance their motor skills. I considered reading books to them as an important part of the routine so they will develop a love for reading. I also took them outside in the morning and in the afternoon (weather permits)after nap time. Nothing more welcoming for the tired parents to come home to than to see their kids clean and happy at the end of the day. So, you can count on me on that regard. ;)

I had a bachelor's degree in Commerce major in Data Processing but haven't practiced it in a long time. I also took a training in caregiving which I am benifiting right now. I will be taking an evening class in french so I could communicate effectively with the kids and their parents who are more comfortable in using french language.

elderly caregiver
Took care of a 93 year old , smart, with great sense of humor, good conversationalist, kind and nice woman. She has alzheimer's but a wonderful woman to talk to. I learned a lot from her since she was a voracious reader. I learned a lot of idiomatic expressions and wisdom from her. Since she is still mobile, we always love to take a walk as long as the weather permits. We loved to listen to some oldies songs of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Matt Monroe. I read to her the newspaper and we discussed the issue. I love listening to her about her childhood stories and about her career. Never a dull moment with her. I also bring her to her favorite activities, going to fine arts museum, library and to some coffee shops. Of course, part of my job was to make sure that she ate healthy food, gave her medication and assist her in her grooming. My ultimate goal in taking care of the elderly is for them to feel that they are loved and valued. Also to make their remaining years enjoyable. The only downside I can see in this voction is that I feel so attached that it takes so long for me to move on when they are gone because I took care of them the way I took care of my aunts and parents.

elderly caregiver
After the passing of that gentle, sweet 94 year old man, I took care of his wife who was 90 years old and had an onset dementia after the death of her husband. She was a kindhearted, loving woman whom I enjoyed taking care of. Like her husband, I always like dressing her up impeccably. Made sure her hair was nicely set and had a nice touch of make up on her face. What we loved to do was listening and sing along to the music of her favorite singer Doris Day. We always went to program of activities of a residence home where she lived. We also met her friends at a nearby mall and had a good time. For me, taking care of an elderly is not a job but my passion.

companion
Took care of a 94 years old gentle and sweet elderly man who was in a nursing home. He had an alzheimer's but despite of his condition, I was happy taking care of him. I made sure that he was hygienically clean and well dressed everytime we went out of his room. I enjoyed conversing with him about the past. Conversation was not only a brain stimulant but also one way of getting to know his character, habits and hobbies. Through that, I was able to make him happy. It was a fullfilling job that at the end of the day, you made an impact to one's life.

companion housekeeper
Worked to a nice elderly man who was 80 yrs. old. I was his housekeeper and at the same time his caregiver. As his caregiver, I made sure that he ate healthy food, took his medicine on time and did activities with him. Our favorite activity was completitng a crossword puzzle...helped stimulate hia brain, encouraged him to play his piano which helped him exercise his hands and fingers. We dance, sing and did appropriate exercise for his age. We also watched classic movies. The main goal was for him to enjoy life everyday.

I enjoy being with kids and working for them. I am at ease when I am among them. I had a kindergarten for 6 years and was a teacher for one year in a private primary school in Morocco. I am patient, easy going but firm when needed, calm, and discuss matters to solve misunderstandings. I am an ed
