Childcare style I have a friendly approach with children. I enjoy getting to know them, I am still suprised by how much I learn from kids if i just take the time to listen. I find the best way for me has always been to earn the childrens respect. Of course every case is different, however, I find once respect is gained, it is much easier to get their attention and have them listen. I am not violent or aggressive nor do I believe threats or bribes are incredibly useful.
Self-description I am an outgoing, positive girl, who loves sports and cooking! I became an aunt when I was 8. Always being around my nieces and nephews has taught me a lot about child care. I nannyed for a family for 6 years, seeing them through the majority of their childhood was a great experience. I've Been living in victoria for the past 2 years and plan to attend Uvic in the fall for the History of Art program.

Briefly describe your work experience
I started working for The Abdurhman family in 2002. The four children were ranging in ages from 2-8 at the time. I stayed with the family for 6 years. My duties with them included keeping the house tidy, preparing healthy meals for the children, keeping them occupised by means other than the television i.e. crafts, games, trampoline, bike rides, etc. Also would pick kids up from frriends, school and soccer practise when neccessary.

I attended Shawnigan lake private school where I was an active part of the soccer, cross-country, field hockey, and tennis teams. I feel that is where my patience stems from, living in a dorm with 60 teenage girls can have it's moments. As far as child care taining goes, I have my red cross babysitters certificate, which includes toddler first aid, and CPR.
