I am a nanny with many years of experience in various settings of childcare. The last seven years I worked as a full time nanny with four different Canadian families. I have a degree in ECE and current child first aid/CPR. My former employers described me as loving, caring, responsible, firm, organized and loyal. Next to my job I babysit on the weekends and evenings sometimes, where I can also provide great references.
I have a valid BC driver's license and always drove the children in all my former positions without any incident. I obtained my license in Germany in 1996 and have been driving ever since, all over Europe and in North America, including major cities like LA and Atlanta. Right now I will not have a car to use on the job though.
In my free time I love to sing in the German choir in Vancouver, read, meet my friends, go ball room dancing, ice skating or swimming.
I like to go outside with the children as much as I can, teach them responsibility and independence. I love doing arts and crafts and will use scissors, pencils, markers and lots of other things to promote fine motor skills and creativity. As I enjoy reading myself I like to take the children to the library often and check out books to take home.
I am looking to fill 2-3 days a week as I work part time with another family. The days can be flexible or determined by you. I have been babysitting since I was 16. Then I went to college and obtained my 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education in 2001. Since then I have worked in different settings for childcare from infant/toddler groups, over pre school, to after school care, camps, nanny and Aupair. I worked in bilingual settings, 2 European countries, the US and Canada.
Additional Experiences/Qualifications:
I have a clean driving record, but no car of my own.
I obtained my degree in Early childhood education in Germany which is a 4 year full time plan in a college. It includes lesson planning, education, games, pedagogy, psychology, physical education, healthy eating and hygiene with children, caring for babies, child development, social development.
