Working with kids is one of my passions, and this is reflected in several jobs I have had, and the career that I am planning on pursuing after finishing my undergraduate education at McGill University. I recently graduated from McGill University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Art History and Education. Now that I have finished my degree, I am planning on getting my teaching certificate and Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education. I love working and playing with young children, and I have a lot of experience working with children of all ages, as well as children with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Over this past year I took care of a 1-year old little girl, and I became very close with her and her family. It was so exciting to see her grow and change so much in the past 8 months and watch her learn to sit up, crawl, walk, and start talking. Last year I also worked at the McGill Daycare Center, specifically in the 3 and 4 year old classrooms, and I love taking care of children around this age because they are so creative, imaginative, and curious about their worlds. I am currently working at the McGill Daycare again this year in the infants classroom, and over the past year I have learned so much about babies and how each infant is already so individual and unique. Infants are probably my favorite age to work with because I love seeing how much they grow, change, and learn in their first year or two. I have been babysitting since I was 15, and in high school I consistently babysat for two families for 4 years and became very close with their children and their families. I have also spent a lot of time volunteering and have gained a lot of experience with organization, leadership skills, and working and interacting with children from all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. One of the most rewarding and significant experiences I have had working with others and volunteering has come through establishing and running a volunteer program for the Ronald McDonald House in high school. Through my experience at the Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati, Ohio, I led 24 high school girls and organized events and activities twice a month for the kids staying at the House.
If you would be interested in hiring me or learning more about me, please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to come in for an interview or answer any questions you may have. I love any opportunity to take care of and interact with children so I would love to come take care of your children! Thank you for your time and consideration!
