I am the eldest of five children and have been caring for my two youngest siblings since they were born. They are now 13 and 16, but I know and enjoy working with children of all ages. I enjoy activities that are both indoors and out, such as reading, writing, hiking, swimming and crafts. I am a volunteer with the OCDSB and have been doing so from the age of 16. I love teaching and working with children both male and female and have worked with groups of children. I also have experience as a camp counsellor where I cared for children from the ages of 5 to 12 years old. I had to plan the entire days of activities and execute this plan weekly. I also had to supervise the children on field trips and ensure they are signed in and out each morning. I am hoping to gain some new experience working with children. I began my contract in October of 2017 with a family including 3 children. The children were 10 months, 2 years and 4 years of age. Expectations included; creating nutritious meals and snacks, settling for naps, changing diapers, potty training, educational activities ie. Museums, libraries, parks, transporting children to and from outings, simple household cleaning. My contract ended due to my employer quitting their job in August of 2018. I began a contract in September 2015 with one child age 1. Daily duties included but were not limited to: providing nutritious meals and snacks, playing and educational games, crafts, driving and supervising during activities, bathing, laundry, light housework. Including in my care was a dog which required daily walks or trips to the park. Other aspects of my work included changing diapers, potty training, park outings and playgroups. From September 2014 to September 2015 I was working for a family with 3 children. There was a 6 year old and 4 year old twins. During the school year preparation of breakfast, morning routine and walking to school are the norm. During the day housekeeping that was required was completed. Then picking the children up from school and providing them with a nutritious snack and completing lunches for the following day. During the summer break days were structured around an activity or outing. Providing a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day as well as snacks as required. Completing household chores while the children were occupied as required. I ended a contract in June 2014 as a new baby arrived in May 2014. I was a live in Nanny from September 2013. Prior to that I was a live out Nanny for just over a year. My daily duties included, but were not limited to; light housework, laundry, meal prep, changing, feeding, educational outings, settling down for naps.

I have been caring for my siblings from the time I was fifteen years old. I have always had a passion for working with kids of all ages. I have a great deal of patience and organizational skills. I have also worked for summer camps where I organize and planned entire weeks worth of activities. I have dealt with children with health issues such as allergies and asthma. I have experience working with a family both as a live out and live in nanny for 7 years. The last year I have been working with 3 children under the age of five. I love my work and am a creative and energetic individual. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: I have a valid drivers licensce and vehicle.

I have a certificate in community studies from Algonquin College.
