  About Me

I have considerable experience (8yrs) working with children and families as a Child and Family Support worker for a non-profit agency. I possess a B.A. in Psychology and although I have cared for children of all ages, I thoroughly enjoy caring for infants and toddlers. As well, I have a well-developed understanding of healthy child development. I approach each job in a positive, adaptable and proactive fashion. My experience caring for children has taught me that a sense of humour and lots of patience are invaluable tools. I am a kind, thoughtful, engaged and caring person, who values open communication with parents.

I am competent in all aspects of childcare including feeding, meal preparation, food introduction, diapering, toilet training, dressing, bedtime/nap routines. I have experience supervising and teaching indoor/outdoor activities, arts and crafts, assisting with homework, scheduling age appropriate activities and games.

I have a certified many times for CPR/First Aid (current), have a current clear Criminal Record Check, and a valid clear Drivers Abstract.

My hobbies include gardening, arts and crafts, painting and reading. I enjoy teaching children to discover the world around them through hands-on learning and exploration, and would be happy to engage your children in these activities. I have also travelled Canada from coast to coast, and have a fondness for continuous life-long learning.

The most important quality I bring to any family is a genuine interest in and love for children. I have both the skills and the passion to create a warm, loving, nurturing experience for children and look forward to the opportunity to assist a family in their goals for raising happy, healthy, curious children.
