| I am just finishing my degree in Geography (and minor in Environmental Studies) from the University of Victoria, and am looking forward to volunteering abroad this upcoming September. I plan to volunteer in orphanages, schools, and other settings, mostly through non-governmental organizations. I love spending time with children, travelling, spending time outdoors and with friends. In 2009 I spent two months in Italy, living with a family as an au-pair. I looked after a 6 year old girl and 7 year old boy who spoke only Italian (and I, only english with very minimal italian), and had the most wonderful time together! Currently I have a part time job as a server at a family restaurant, and volunteer once a week with a young girl through Big Brothers and Big Sisters. I would love to spend the summer months, starting as soon as possible, looking after children! |
