*Wage is negotiable for the perfect fit family!* Hello Families! My name is Amanda , and I am beyond excited to introduce myself to you! :) I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator who graduated in 2014 from the University of Guelph-Humber with both an Honours Degree in Early Childhood Studies and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. I have extensive experience caring for newborns, infants, toddlers, and young children. I have valid First Aid with CPR Level C & AED Certification (which will be renewed again ASAP), Vulnerable Sector (Police) Check, and Ontario Driver's License. In past experiences I worked onboard the Disney Cruise Line, travelling abroad with a family living in Switzerland, assisted a family in their move to Miami, as well as lots of work with twins and co-caring children of different ages at the same time. My goal is to ensure a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that supports the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development of the children in my care. Sharing my enthusiasm for learning, I aim to make learning fun through play-based activities that encourage exploration, spark curiosity and inspire imagination. I take advantage of all learning opportunities, those that evolve naturally throughout our day, as well as pre-planned structured activities such as scheduled playdates, books/story-time, sensory bins, songs and lots of outdoor time including nature walks, park/ playground visits, and excursions to libraries and EarlyON Centres. (Of course, only when we are permitted and can safely participate in these activities again.) I also like to teach and practice "Positive Affirmations" with young children, which are proven to boost a child's self-confidence and can brighten their day. I am a skilled professional who genuinely LOVES caring for newborns, infants and young children within their home setting. I consider myself to be a kind-hearted, compassionate, energetic, fun-loving person with a cheery disposition and a positive attitude. I am honest, dependable, trustworthy, easy going and possess common sense and good judgement. I recognize every child as being a unique individual with limitless potential and I pride myself on being responsive to the specific needs of each child in my care. I will ensure a safe, healthy, nurturing and stimulating environment for your children and I am committed to working in partnership with you as their parents, to support their overall development. I am someone who will care for your children like they are part of my own family, which includes lots of love, cuddles and laughter.

Below I have documented in detail, my work experiences since becoming a Registered ECE, in an effort to demonstrate my commitment to working with infants and young children, and so that you will see what I bring to the table as a candidate for a Child Care Provider/ Nanny position with your family. Please note that I also have several additional years of experience working with children as a Ballet Teacher at dance studio, as a Camp Counsellor and Pre-school Teacher at City-run camps, and in a variety of structured child care settings prior to graduating as an Early Childhood Educator. These activities are included in my resume which is available upon request. For two amazing years, I worked as a Nursery Counsellor for Disney Cruise Lines in their on-board Child Care Centre, where I cared for the youngest guests on the cruise ship (age 5 and under). This provided me with an opportunity to not only work with children and their families from around the world, but to also work alongside Early Childhood Educators from around the world, allowing me to broaden my skills and best practises. Following my adventures with Disney, I traveled to Switzerland working as a live-in Au Pair/Nanny for a family where I cared for their precious 3-month-old daughter until she was almost 3 years of age. During the first year, I also provided part-time care for a baby boy the same age, as part of a "nanny share" the family had arranged. At times this position required me to travel throughout Europe with the family as they ran the international division of a Canadian business. However, as their daughter grew older, I occasionally remained at home taking on sole responsibility for both their daughter and the household while they travelled abroad on their own. In December 2018, I returned home when my Visa expired, however I remain in contact with the family and we try to connect whenever they come to Ontario to visit family they have here. In January 2019, I began working for an American family living in Toronto, caring for their 3-month-old son. However, 3 months into the job, they were unexpectedly relocated to Miami by the father's employer. At this point the family invited me to join them temporarily in Miami, to help with their resettlement and to assist with the anticipated arrival of a second baby (via surrogate) in May. During this time, I worked in close partnership with Mom assisting with the transition of moving back to the USA, settling in a new home, and caring for two babies until my return to Toronto at the end of July 2019. Starting in August 2019, I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful family that included 9-month-old twin boys and their four-year-old sister. However, in January 2020 the family moved temporarily outside of Toronto but have since returned to the city and I maintain a good relationship with them. In late January 2020, I was hired by a high-profile family living in Toronto to care for their 10-month-old son. I was responsible for all aspects of his care from the time he woke up in the morning until he was put to bed in the evening. Additionally, I travelled with the family both within Canada and the USA just prior to the arrival of COVID-19. Unfortunately, in April, the family made a decision to go into full isolation with extended family members only due to the Pandemic, and as a result my long-term contract ended unexpectedly. In May 2020, a family I previously worked for recommended me to another family in their community who was looking for Child Care for their 1-year-old twins. Over the past year, I have enjoyed working with this lovely family caring for their two girls while the parents worked from home. However, as the parents expect to be working remotely for the foreseeable future, they intend to spend the next few months at a second property outside of the GTA. As I had recently moved into a condo of my own in Toronto for the first time, I was unable to relocate with them, and we will be parting ways. July 2021 I began working with a lovey family in Oakville, who provided a car in order to commute, as typically that is a bit far west for my preference. I cared for their 2 year old daughter, as well as provided companionship for the mother as well. Due to unforeseen circumstances within the family we had to end our contract 6 months early. It is with hopefulness that I now begin my journey to find a new family who is in need of a full-time and preferably long-term Child Care Provider/Nanny. If you think that I could be the right fit for your family, I look forward to hearing from you to discuss in more detail your family's needs and expectations in order to determine if we might be a good match. :) * VACCINATED * EXCELLENT REFERENCES AVAILABLE FROM THE FAMILIES I HAVE WORKED WITH * LOTS OF EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL INTEREST IN WORKING WITH NEWBORNS, INFANTS & TWINS * WAGE CAN BE NEGOTIABLE FOR THE RIGHT FAMILY

After graduating as an Ontario Scholar from a Peel Secondary School Regional Arts Program, I followed my heart and decided to pursue a career working with infants and young children. In 2014 I graduated from the University of Guelph Humber, with both a an Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Childhood Studies and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. Since this time I have been living and working abroad within the child care field.
