Looking for a Full Time Caregiver for Stroke Patient

JN
Active:

My dad had a stroke during June 2015. He is mobile - able to walk (slowly) and has some function in his arm. Speech was slightly affected but barely. We are looking for someone with experience, preferably one year or more with stroke patients or those with a disability. The job entails repetitive tasks of caring for a 50 year old man. These tasks include (but are not limited to): assisting in bathing and grooming, tying shoes, reminding/helping with exercises, administering timely medications and vitamins under instructions, providing constant companionship, taking care of hygiene and social development. Additional work includes (but is not limited to): shop for food and household supplies, wash and iron clothes and household linen, assuming full responsibility of the household in the absence of man's spouse, performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties, preparing healthy, balanced meals, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the house. We are looking for someone who is fun and energetic with good humour. My dad likes to laugh. He is a fun and generally easy going guy, though keep in mind the stroke has affected his brain and he can sometimes be moody (although he does not get upset at those he is not very familiar with). He is very determined to regain his mobility and focuses a lot on his therapy. We will also ask for a criminal record check. We live in Coquitlam, BC in the Westwood Plateau area. Please contact me if interested!
