I am a 39 year old with a cervical spinal cord injury, and am looking for a mother's helper/care-aide to help me with personal care (toileting, showering, dressing), manual transfers, my physiotherapy exercises, some household operations, driving to medical appointments, and who is willing to help me with my 5 year old and 3 year old daughters. For my daughters, we will be getting them to and from Preschool (and Kindergarten in September 2016), and taking them to some of their classes at the Community Centre. We live in West Vancouver, straight up Taylor Way into the British Properties. I am looking for a commitment of at least one year (or hopefully more), since the children get attached to the assistants. Days of work are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, with a half hour lunch break for you mid-day. I am looking for an individual who is compassionate, motivated, caring, and organized. A love for young children is a must. This position is great for anyone who is wanting experience to apply for nursing/medical school, or physiotherapy/occupational therapy/recreation therapy, or Early Childhood Education. Must have Driver's License and supply copy of Driver's Transcript, Criminal Record Check, and work references. Must have valid work visa or SIN.
