We are looking for a nanny to join our family long term and care for our 2 children in our home in Signal Hill. Working schedule would be 5 days a week (Tue-Sat) with some evening hours required on Tues and Thurs (approximately 40-50 hours a week). Our oldest is 4 years old (currently in Preschool 4 days a week in the AM), and we just had our second child in early March 2017. I will be returning to work in Aug 2017, our nanny will then be the primary care giver for the infant and our eldest. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities: - loves being with children of a variety of ages - focuses on the healthy physical, mental and emotional development of our children - energetic and outgoing - nurturing and caring - enjoys the outdoors (we encourage the children to play outside everyday; unless extreme weather) - gentle but firm discipline - reliable and motivated - a good communicator who wants to be a part of the family Primary Responsibilities include: - providing a safe and caring environment for our children - engaging in play with children of all ages - serving nutritious snacks and meals - preparing the children for the day (dressing, packing backpacks) - driving the oldest from school, to and from activities (all close to our neighborhood) - playing outside/going for walks - participating in playgroups and/or organizing play dates - keeping the house tidy When safe and not in conflict with the primary responsibilities, we would like some housekeeping duties to be completed on a weekly basis, which include: - mopping / sweeping / vacuuming - dusting - laundry - kitchen tidying - meal preparation (Tues and Thur) Criminal Record Check, Driver's Licence abstract, First Aid, and CPR training are required before we finalize our decision; we will help you to obtain them if you do not already have them.
