Hi there, I am just heading back to work after a year of mat leave and am looking for a nanny for my 1 year old son. As I am a midwife my requirements are quite different from the regular 9-5 jobs. I am looking for someone who would be able to take care of my son during clinic hours 3-4 days a month (usually clinic hours are 9-5 or 10-6), as well as be on call for 8 24h periods/ month, which are usually split into 48h-72h stretches at a time, including one weekend every 3 weeks or so. During the on call part, I may or may not call you depending on, if I am called to births or have to do home visits. I do usually know my schedule way in advance so this job could be easily combined with another part time job or a nanny share (my kid loves other kids), as long as you are available to come to me if it is night hours (need to be able to get here quickly) and I am paged, or during the day I could be flexible to drop him to you, as long as it is close by. I am located in yaletown and work mostly downtown. I will also mention that since I am from Germany originally and speak German to my son, i would love having a German nanny. But of course am also open to any others as long as you are loving and can nurture my little human.
