I have two amazing boys (8 & 9) who are two peas in a pod—caring, friendly, active and increasingly independent. The challenge is this: I’m a single mom with a VERY demanding Executive career. So, even though my boys are only with me every second week, we have LOTS of things we need help with: • Pick-up from the school’s Extended Day Program (therefore, driver’s license and car important)—up to 5 days a week, but only every 2nd week • Oversight of the boys until Mom gets home • Possible start to dinner or other light house work while they are playing • Bonuses: you live nearby; able to help them with reading or homework (English & French if possible); able to play sports/swim/bike etc.; able to pinch hit as evening babysitter if something comes up for Mom and she can’t be home by bedtime; availability on some weekend days or evenings if necessary; possible full-time summer (or other school holiday) availability would be an asset. This is essentially a 1-3 hour/day job, roughly between 4:30-6:30 p.m., every second week. I am willing to pay extra when I need more coverage than previously arranged and it is with short notice. There will be those times! So, what I want most is an enthusiastic, flexible, capable person to grow and roll with our unique family realities so that the boys and I feel supported, comfortable and at ease—no matter what the day throws at us! I’m willing to negotiate something with the right person in order to make things a win-win! A super positive attitude and nurturing demeanor is a must, as I only want the best for my boys.
