We are a family on the West end of Edmonton, both parents are professionals, and we are seeking child care professionals for our two children. We have a boy (6 years old) and a girl (3 years old).
We can offer either live-in option or a live-out option.
We are seeking a child care worker with experience in this field, who is caring and compassionate and can demonstrate ambition to go beyond the normal expectations. We are hoping for a long-term caregiver who will continue to help our children develop, and will compensate as the successful candidate grows in the role. Expectation is for a minimum of 3-5 years, with increasing compensation if the candidate continues to improve.
The successful candidate should:
-Have experience watching children of this age, in the setting of either a live-in or live-out caregiver;
-Have patience, compassion, and understanding with children, and be able to speak at their level;
-Understand appropriate means to discipline a child without raising their voice or physical contact;
-Be able to help the children develop and learn, both by assisting in their schooling and by identifying teaching opportunities in the every day;
-Be able to provide basic cooking skills, with an understanding of healthy food options, including both vegan and vegetarian food preparation;
-Be prepared for getting the children dressed, fed, to school, and returned home in a safe manner;
-Be comfortable cleaning, including washing bathrooms, cleaning kitchen, tidying the home, washing clothes, and ironing, as required;
Assets that would help the successful candidate include:
-Fluent in French
-First aid experience
-Drivers license (not required, but preferable)
