As the S.E.A., you will be supporting this child in a 1:1 capacity in order for them to meet their curricular and IEP goals in the home. You may also support the student work on their professional therapist's goals (for example, Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy goals) as it is deemed appropriate. This position is posted by Hands-On Home-Learning (HOHL), the home-learning program of Oak and Orca School. It occurs in the child's home with supervision and guidance from the parent as well as oversight and education planning from the school. The SEA works with both parent and school to provide the best program possible for the individual child. Your main duties include: -Support with feeding, toileting, dressing, mobility, and personal hygiene as needed -Delivering/adapting/creating some learning activities, as related to the student’s interests and DL supports -Implementing recommendations from SLP, OT, PT The skills and qualities that we are looking for in the S.E.A. include someone who is attentive, patient, experienced, and that can make learning fun! Having a knowledge of or experience in delivering Early Childhood programming is an asset. HOHL is looking to work with someone who is responsive, timely, and has strong communication skills. You will be asked to provide Work Samples and to answer educationally relevant questions on a weekly basis (HOHL will provide the questions, and will support you in submitting work samples that are of good quality), along with your weekly invoice of hours.
