At Hands-On Home-Learning for a Sustainable World, a Distributed Learning teacher works with the student and family to support the child's education. We are based in Victoria, B.C., but the position is for *Abbotsford*. As the S.E.A., you will be supporting this child in a 1:1 capacity in order for them to meet their curricular and IEP goals in the home. You may also support the student work on their professional therapist's goals (for example, Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy goals) as it is deemed appropriate. We are looking for female, supportive assistant/caregiver to work in home with teen-aged student for some regular daily shifts during school hours. The ideal applicant must: - be able to care for the daily living/physical needs of a child with multiple dependencies - have good oral and written communication skills - some training and/or interest in learning about Deafblind intervention an asset - be someone who wants to work in a homeschool environment long term - be able to help with personal care and assist with Functional Routine - be able to work with some technologies (iPad, Switch) - have or be willing to learn some ASL - have or be willing to get First Aid Certification At this time, the learning goals are general educational support, and the main goal is to connect, have fun, and help the student learn and express herself in ways that are positive and meaningful.
