Active:

Hi there! We are still looking for someone to be trained to become our daughter's ABA Support Worker at school starting September 2018. ** This position will require at least 1,000 hours of experience as an ABA tutor by September 2018. In order to achieve this number of hours by September, the candidate must have at least 600 hours of experience as an ABA BI at the time of application. ** If you like working with children, live in or around north Surrey (even Coquitlam, Langley), and have had some experience doing ABA therapy or tutoring under a BCBA, this is the opportunity for you! You need to have graduated from high school, be 19 years of age or older, have 1,000 hours of ABA experience to apply for this position with School District 36. In September, this would be a semi-full-time position, 25 hours per week, 9:00 to 2:30, ultimately working for the Surrey school district. Please note that the job as an ABA support worker is hired by the Surrey School District and, even if a candidate is trained to work with our daughter, we can not guarantee the School District will hire the candidate. * We can provide 4 to 6 hours per week leading up to September, and can work with the right candidate to help them find other families to work with the reach the required 1,000 hours. Our daughter goes to an awesome little public school in Fraser Heights, northeast Surrey just over the Port Mann bridge. Also just a short drive from Langley, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge. Start Date: You could start tomorrow, training with our daughter and gaining ABA experience. Or, if you already have experience, you could start working with our daughter in the late spring and summer so you are ready to go in September. We are looking for someone who loves to work with kids. You are positive, encouraging, caring, a quick thinker and team player. Our daughter is 8 years old in Grade 3. She is bright, friendly, caring, creative and loves to dance, play the piano and do taekwondo. She was originally diagnosed with classic autism at the age of 1, but is very independent now, after many years of intensive ABA therapy. She is one of the brightest students in her Grade 3 class. Most of her support needs are with social skills, executive function, and self-regulation. If you are interested, please contact me. Thank you for considering this position! Andrea
