North End of Nanaimo: Family looking for an in home Nanny to care for 1 child (2 1/2 year old) for 25 hours a week. Consistent routine and schedule. Hours: 5 days a week/ 9am-2pm Mon to Fri. Person must be able to fully care for all of toddlers needs: lift the child if needed, know how to use strollers, car seats, wagons etc.. to safety standards, feed the child without assistance, tidy up what ever they use or play with during working hours (teaching child to also participate in tidying up) and engage in positive learning games/crafts/songs or even playing in the back yard (Ex: have a picnic, tea party, play with bubbles, ride a bike etc..). On rainy days, there are drop in classes available that may be of interests. We are a positive family household with a fenced yard and only minutes to the park. Structure and routine are key. Child's nature is very shy, polite, active and happy. She is a monkey see, monkey do child. She does well with people who demonstrate calm, relaxed, positive and educational responses. Professional attitudes are a must: Must be capable to learn and fully support the family structure for the toddlers needs, reliable, knowledgeable of toddler care; proactive to encourage basic toddler educational & life skill needs, caring, patient and excellent communication skills. Must be able to work well with family as well as independently with the toddler. Basic household routine, tour and schedules will be introduced. Open communication is also a must!
