Full Time Live Out Nanny

We are seeking a childcare specialist to provide high-quality, personalized and customized childcare in our family’s home. The nanny will be responsible for all tasks related to care of the children between the hours of 8:00am-6:00 pm from Monday-Friday. The nanny will serve as a loving, nurturing and trustworthy companion to children and a partner to the parents in raising the children. We have three children aged 7, 4 and 1. The 1 year old will be in the nanny’s care full-time. The 7 and 4 year old will be in the nanny’s care during the time they are not in school (e.g. before and after school, PA days, holidays, summer break, etc.). The children will need to be walked to and from their respective schools and activities by the nanny. The start date for this position is end of August/beginning of September. The location is southeast Burlington. Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment • Supervising the children’s activities at all times • Meeting the children’s social, emotional and physical needs • Providing age-appropriate activities (social, creative, educational, outdoor, etc.) • Taking the children on age-appropriate outings • Assisting with self-care and hygiene, including diapering • Supervising or administering baths • Helping children dress • Potty training • Reading to the children • Preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks • Instilling good manners and a sense of responsibility • Transporting the children to and from school, activities and appointments • Disciplining the children, when necessary and in accordance with our parenting principles • Keeping the house organized and tidy; cleaning up after playtime or meals • Folding children’s laundry • Vacuuming and mopping the floors • Preparing dinner for the family • Helping children with homework Job Qualifications: • At least 2 years of relevant experience caring for toddlers and young children • High school graduate • Training in early childhood education preferred • Excellent, verifiable references • Good health / Physical ability to care for young children and walk to/from schools and shops • Current first aid and CPR certification • Valid driver’s license is an asset • Clean background check • Authorization to work in Canada • English proficiency • Reliable, honest, and trustworthy • Ability to plan, organize, and multitask with minimal supervision • Knowledge of the community and activities available to young children • Good judgment skills • High energy level • Non-smoker
