A caregiver for one senior lady with Dementia is required. My mother is in a day program 4 days per week. She lives with my father in their home. We need someone who can come in from 4pm to approximately 8 pm to help with dinner preparations and keep my mother company. Most of the time my mother is not too bad. She can have good days and bad days but usually responds well to reminders and redirections, especially if she is interacted with. When having a good day, she can participate quite lucidly in a conversation. She does suffer from Sundowners and can become somewhat anxious in the evenings. This is greatly helped when she is with someone she knows so your job will become easier the longer you are there. My mother is a mild mannered lady. She sometimes requires some cuing for personal care events such as dressing and toileting but does not require physical assistance. She can walk unaided although we do walk beside her, especially when she is walking up and down stairs. She has a walker for longer walks outdoors. My brothers and sister and I visit very often. Rarely is there a day or evening when someone does not come over. My father also lives there but is independent. My father does smoke.
