Overnight Caregiver

PD
Active:

Your responsibilities will include monitoring my mother from 9pm to 9am. You will assist her with getting ready for bed. She needs monitoring and cuing throughout the procedure but very little physical assistance. She walks independently, occasionally using a walker. She does get up in the night to use the bathroom and requires closer monitoring and assistance at that time as she is more likely to be unsteady or confused in the middle of the night. Some nights my mother sleeps well and some nights she is up more. There is a large recliner chair at the foot of the bed so you can be comfortable. My father sleeps in another room. My mother has dementia and Sundowners. She is generally agreeable although she can be a little difficult such as when she believes she is not in her own home and wishes to go home. She is generally very co-operative with her caregivers. We currently use an agency but are looking to hire directly. You would be working overnight about 4 nights per week. It is possible that we will hire two people to share the job although we do prefer to limit the number of people working with my mother. My father lives in the home and smokes a pipe in the TV room. It is important that you not be sensitive to smoke. My mother is a non-smoker.
