I have two boys. One is 6 (born Jan/08) and the other is 21 months (born July/14). My oldest attends CFIS which is near our home and walking distance (though 20 + min). Our youngest is in Von Kids which is also near our home and walking distance (7 min walk). The nanny would primarily just care for my oldest son over the summer. We would like him to be kept busy with trips to the zoo, Calaway, the local park and other fun, active activities. During the school year the expectation is that the candidate would assist with pick up of both boys and care (ie. 3-7pm) approximately 4 days/month to assist when my husband travels as well as the occasional night out (ie. 6-10pm). In addition we would consider assistance during school breaks and the professional days. Pick ups can be done via our vehicle, the candidate’s vehicle or walking. Our hope is to find a candidate that is looking for a long-term relationship and has the availability to assist, especially when my husband travels. We would commit to offering at least 3 shifts a month at 4 hours min/shift during the school year. We may be able to offer more hours depending on circumstances each month. We could negotiate a higher minimum as well. The expectations would be in line with typical childcare. We would like a candidate who appreciates children and has some experience with toddlers. References and criminal record check would be expected. Cooking would be limited to that applicable to our son and yourself during childcare hours. Housekeeping would be expected during downtime but would not be the priority and primarily just in regards to clean up after yourself and our son during his time with you. First priority is the care of our sons and we hope that you become great friends with our precious little boys! My husband works at home in the basement and would therefore be on site (but rarely seen) during childcare hours over the summer. We have a dog but the candidate would not be expected to interact with him. Hours: General hours would be approximately 8am - 5pm M-F over the summer. We anticipate needing a caregiver for 6 weeks this summer over July/Aug but that is negotiable as well. See above regarding the school year.
