Hello, If you are the "five-legged sheep" I've been looking for to take care of my bubbly, happy little boy after school, then read on. I am a currently his only parent in Montreal (Daddy lives across the border so we do a lot of back and forth), about to start a new job with demanding hours and preparing for exams in December. Therefore, and in order to ease comfortably into this new situation, I need to know that the person taking care of my little guy in my absence will work with me to quickly establish a relationship based on trust and confidence, someone who can follow instructions but also feels comfortable taking initiative where appropriate. Finally, I'd like you to also be the kind of person who, through creative learning experiences, will take pride in contributing to my son's personal development. Whether you are Anglophone or Francophone, I would like you to be capable of interacting entirely in English while with my son, in order to help me maintain his second language. My boy will love being involved in whatever you will be doing around the house, whether it is helping you remember what’s on the grocery list, cooking with you, or continuing an artsy-crafty project. What your daily schedule would entail, as a minimum, is the following: - Driving from school to home at around 5pm (it's a 20mins drive - too long by bus or subway - must own car or will provide family car - to be discussed as the new school year approaches) - Occasional grocery shopping (around the corner from our house) - Bathing - Cooking healthy dinners - Helping prepare lunch box for the next day (except Fridays) - Reading bedtime stories. - Basic tidying up every night (additional housekeeping hours might be formally agreed upon if this is a service you also provide) The exact hours yet have to be determined but it would be in the range of 5:30pm to 9pm at least four days a week, maybe five. Flexibility is key. I will only consider applicants whose experience and personal introduction demonstrates that they are the right fit for our family.
