Friendly & Happy Semi-Formal Residence is looking for a Nanny / Governess for a Long Term Position Caring for 2 Children. The employee’s responsibilities specifically include: • Caregiving Duties to include the care and supervision of two children ages 7 & 5 years old. • Provide all aspects of childcare providing assistance to busy parents. • Managing children’s schedules and routines. • Managing children’s personal hygiene including bathing, dressing the children and hair-do in morning • Create and maintain a healthy, safe and nurturing environment for the children • Coordinating the start of the day including wake-up and dressing until bedtime. • Taking the children to and from school, appointments and activities. Driving duties including escorting child to school/programs and running errands as required and requested by the employer. • Maintenance of the children’s spaces, clothing and person. • Plan and execute written meal plans. Cooking and preparation of snacks and meals for the children, with the ability to follow a recipe. • Organize various leisure activities at home and outdoors • Stimulate / promote a healthy and active lifestyle • Assist with children’s education (homework and tutoring) • Help with children’s pets (one dog, rabbits) • Create and support a friendly atmosphere with housekeeper • Handling special requests and related duties as needed • Typical routine includes: Waking children up, dressing them for school. Maintain children’s hygiene. Prepare breakfast, serve and supervise. Children are driven to school. Children are picked up from school, brought home for free play, tutoring and completion of homework. Free play may be inclusive of: swimming in the pool, completion of a craft project, baking, playing with sports equipment. Children are bathed. Prepare dinner, serve and supervise meal-time. Prepare children for bedtime. • Assist in obtaining and maintaining appropriate behavior, life skills. Implementation of appropriate positive discipline and feedback with children. • Communication need for maintenance or repair of SUV, children’s areas around home. ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to use a smart phone: Text message/Imessage • Ability to use iCal and GPS • Basic Word Processing on Microsoft Word/Excel • Computer and Internet Savvy • Maintain valid Ontario Driver’s License. Vehicle to be provided for the Employee’s use at work. • Ability to multi-task • Ability to create and manage tasks and lists. • Strong English written and verbal communication skills • Highly organized and detail oriented • Willingness to communicate regularly with parents regarding goal setting and progress with children’s well-being and educational plans.
