As a 58-year-old, single woman with no kids/grandkids...my life/time is my own. I am very much a homebody, and have been since 2017, when I started working from home providing customer service by phone. I don't venture out very often, but would be happy to as part of my duties. I enjoy my computer, where I watch movies, listen to music, play games, conduct business (e.g. - banking) and look up information. I am a quiet, caring, trustworthy, responsible and friendly person who enjoys connecting with people. My work background includes office administration/customer service, commercial driving and childcare.
I started working in the elderly care field on April 1, 2023, as a Live-In Companion/Caregiver for a 100-year-old woman. I am responsible for the general management of the house, and ensuring my client's health and safety. I am responsible for preparing her dinner and snacks, while PSWs serve her breakfast and lunch. I am also responsible for providing companionship to her and tending to her needs throughout the day, as well as general housekeeping duties.
In addition, I lived with/cared for my father for about a year while he had dementia.
This is a new career for me since April 1, 2023, when I was hired privately to live and work in my client's home. I have no formal education in the caregiver/companion field.
My other education includes completion of high school and a 1-year college diploma in Medical Office Administrator.
