Hello, my name is Thandiwe and I'm a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Worker based in Ottawa. I bring along a year's worth of experience in the healthcare sector, having worked with patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Dementia, and other conditions including speech and visual impairments, and those who are bedridden or ventilator-dependent. Understanding and addressing individual needs is a core part of my job. This understanding extends to providing a range of comprehensive duties, from ambulation and toileting assistance to housekeeping, laundry and meal planning. I am also versed in Hoyer lift operations, Alzheimer/Dementia care, palliative care, patient positioning and catheter/colostomy care. Furthermore, I have experience working with children with disabilities, a role I found to be particularly gratifying. I have a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate, along with First Aid and CPR certifications. As it regards to my preferred living arrangement, I am flexible and comfortable with both live-in and live-out arrangements. Professionally, I am looking for a full-time role either as a Personal Support Worker or a Caregiver / Companion in home health care setups or retirement homes. I would also like to note that I am available for work throughout the week, from mornings to evenings.
