My name is Diana Rose, a 37-year-old professional Personal Support Worker and Caregiver based in North York. My passion for providing compassionate care to the elderly drove me to complete a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a private school, enriched with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing back home. I hold certifications in both First Aid and CPR. As a non-smoker and mother who has experience taking care with children with disabilities, I bring a wealth of understanding and patience to my work. With a year's worth of professional experience in Home Health Care and Retirement Homes, I'm actively seeking a full-time, live-out position, and can start work immediately.
I'm typically available for work during the mornings and the middle of the day, Monday through Friday. Although I am unable to relocate or travel for work, I am steadfast in my commitment to providing reliable and respectful care within my local area.
Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to care for patients suffering from various diagnoses, such as Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's, Diabetes, and Incontinence. This has allowed me to develop a broad range of skills, including housekeeping, laundry, vacuuming, and grocery shopping. I am also proficient at running errands, meal planning and preparation, and bathroom and dish cleaning.
My professional training includes assisting with walking, Alzheimer/Dementia care, home supervision, bed baths, oxygen administration, lifting and transferring patients, operating a Hoyer Lift, and assisting with dressing, grooming, and toileting. I'm also well-versed in providing my client ADLs, thus equipping me to carefully handle patients with specific needs.
I am fluent in English and Tagalog, have a clean police record, and am a proud citizen of the Philippines. As standard in my professional and personal care, I prioritize respect, trust, and kindness. As a caregiver, I am keen on providing care that enhances the quality of life of those I serve, thereby offering peace of mind to their families.
Back home in the Philippines I worked as a private caregiver to my grandparent with an amputated leg due to complications of diabetes. Since I am a nursing graduate, my relative wants me to take care of my grandparent and receive an allowance or considered as my pay was to provide the necessary intervention.
Here in Canada, I studied PSW and did my clinical placement at One Kenton Place. It was a Dementia/Alzheimer facility where I was providing care and learned to utilize the Hoyer lift each time the resident needed to be transferred from bed to wheelchair and vice versa.
