my name is Meagan. I am a 27-year-old Teacher Candidate, completing my bachelor of education in the primary/junior division at York University. I have always been passionate about education and working with children. During my free time, I love reading, hiking, crafting and hanging out with my friends and family. I would consider myself a responsible, caring and energetic person. As a teacher, I strive to form connections and build relationships with each of my students as I feel it's an important part of the teacher-learner dynamic. I work hard to make my lessons and activities engaging and fun while helping my students to build confidence in their abilities and learn strategies they can use throughout their lives.

I am currently completing my Bachelor of Education in the Primary/Junior division at York University. In September I will be entering my final year. I have over 10 years of experience tutoring. I have tutored for individual families as well as tutoring companies, such as The Reading Foundation in the Toronto. My undergraduate degree was in Linguistics and I have extensive knowledge of the Science of Reading and Writing. I am well versed in the Ontario Curriculum, especially for elementary grades. Additionally, I am bilingual in French and have experience tutoring both Core and French Immersion up to grade 12. On top of my tutoring experience, I have years of experience as a private nanny, a French teaching assistant at a Montessori school, and a senior counsellor for the York Region District School Boards Summer Institute program.
