Looking for a qualified dementia/alzheimers home support caregiver, who can live in to assist a female senior who lives with moderate dementia. She is happy and low maintenance.. Loves to read, watch funny shows, color and paint. Support needed from wake up to bed time. We are looking for Wednesday and Friday care for my 65 year old father who lives with Parkinson’s disease. This is a part time job that could move to more hours if you are an excellent fit. You must be able to work in Canada and have a valid drivers license. Duties include: - take him to weekly appointments - encouraging movement/mobility during “off” times - ensuring daily exercises are completed - ensuring medication is taken every 2 hours - drive him to visit family - take him to boxing classes - running errands and going to appointments - meal prep - housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry - completing short summary reports at the end of shift to identify important information (missed meds, falls, unusual behavior, etc.) About my dad: Energetic Funny Musical Outdoorsy Active He likes to exercise, dance, play guitar! Ideal candidate is fun, professional, and patient. You would be a self starter who is good as a companion and care aid. A little backstory on my dad: he is a very young 64 year old who likes to laugh and joke around. Up until about 13 years ago, he would do the ride to conquer cancer every year (this is a bike ride from langley to Seattle!). He loves to play the guitar and listen to music. Music and dancing help him during his off periods. He’s an outdoorsman at heart who used to love biking, fishing and camping.

Job location - Pitt Meadows, BC Key Responsibilities Adhere to the plan of care as determined by the family & medical professionals; Facilitate patients’ move in and transfers where applicable; Assist the client with personal care and hygiene and activities of daily living; Observe and report on changes in clients condition to family; Plan and prepare nutritious meals as required; Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring and adaptive aids; Ability to understanding of client needs and maximize abilities; Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including clients room, equipment, belongings, and nursing equipment; Light housekeeping services and laundry Exercise and physical assistance Engage with other agencies involved in resident/client care as directed; Monitor medication, vitals including blood sugar; Drive client to Doctor’s appointments/ Social engagements; Conversation, companionship and mental stimulation. May involve out of the country travel to provide assistance in the care of the patient, as necessary. Weight Handling Up to (20 lbs) 
Work conditions - combination of sitting, walking, standing Qualifications Passionate about providing care & Experience with elderly people Must be honest, reliable, confident and highly sociable and. Must feel confident in your ability to engage the Client in activities and conversation. Mandatory criminal record check. Must be able to work minimum 30 hours per week on shifting schedules including evenings or Saturday, and Sunday. High School Diploma or College Diploma, Ability to perform tasks that are necessary for the position, e.g. lifting/transferring client. Driver's license - Good to have but not mandatory. Must be a Non Smoker. 2 professional references including telephone numbers. (Ipad- Touchchat Program, Eyegaze). Must be fully vaccinated. Our daughter is vaccinated, but remains vulnerable and more susceptible to the severe symptoms of Covid-19 and to be protected from risk of transmission, candidates will require proof of vaccination prior to employment. I am looking for a caregiver/support worker to help me with our daughter who has Cerebral Palsy. The responsibilities would include feeding, standing transfers, washroom care, dressing and grooming, taking her out for walks in her manual wheelchair or going shopping with her and playing games or doing arts and crafts and baking.
