With busy schedules and active lifestyles, we are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to join our family as an au pair. Our home is filled with laughter, adventure, and love, and we are excited to welcome someone who shares our values into our household. We are looking to have a second child in the near future and would love for the au pair to remain with us for a multi-year period. Position Overview: We are looking for an au pair to provide support with childcare and light household duties. This is a live-in position, offering a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of British Columbia while becoming an integral part of our family. We have homes in Vernon, BC (Predator Ridge) and Vancouver Island (Decourcy Island) that we spend the majority of our time. You would have a dedicated room/space at both of these properties. For the right candidate, they could still choose to live at home in either Vernon or Nanaimo, but they would have to live with us while we travel to the other houses. We also spend a lot of time in the City of Vancouver. When the opportunities arise, we would also like someone that is available to travel with us as well. The au pair will primarily be responsible for assisting with the care of our two-year-old son, as well as providing support with other household tasks. The job would start with a 2-month plus stay at our property on Vancouver Island. After that, we would be looking to relocate to Vernon in the Fall and stay there for a longer period. Key Responsibilities: - Engage with and supervise our two-year-old son in various activities, including playtime, developmental exercises, and outings. - Prepare and serve meals and snacks for our son, adhering to any dietary preferences or restrictions. - Assist with light household chores such as tidying up communal areas, children's laundry, and meal preparation. - Accompany the family on outings and excursions, providing additional support and supervision as needed. - Foster a nurturing and supportive environment for our son, promoting his emotional and social development. Hi, I am in search of someone to be a night doula/ night nanny for my newborn. We would need your help very frequently the first few weeks like 3-4 nights a week, 8 hours a night, then this would decrease to fewer nights per week as the baby gets older. I will be getting a scheduled c-section, so the first 6 weeks I anticipate needing the most help. Your role would be caring for the baby (bringing baby to me to feed, diaper change, swaddling, getting baby back to sleep). I just want you to be aware that I have a 2.5 year old. He is in daycare 5 days a week full-time, and my husband plus my parents will be around to be with him in the evenings for the first few weeks. My husband will attend to him if he wakes up during the night but it is important that he gets to know you and feels comfortable with you before the baby is born (could do a few baby sitting sessions at $25 an hour with him before hand). We do not have an extra bedroo, m so you would have to sleep on our pull out couch in the living room or on a mat in my husband's office. This job could transition to occasional childcare during the day as the baby gets older, like 4 hours a few times a week, but the priority right now is the nighttimes. The focus will be Izzy but a bit of help with her meals/laundry and some tidying while she naps is appreciated. We will need your help for the rest of the school year (April, May, June). We sign our daughter up for camps and go on vacation in the summer so your hours would be reduced for July and August. Ideally you would like to continue working with us for the following school year starting in September.
