With busy schedules and active lifestyles, we are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to join our family as an au pair. We are looking to have a second child in the near future and would love for the au pair to remain with us for a multi-year period. Position Overview: We are looking for an au pair to provide support with childcare and light household duties. This is a live-in position, offering a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of British Columbia while becoming an integral part of our family. We have homes in Vernon, BC (Predator Ridge) and Vancouver Island (Decourcy Island) that we spend the majority of our time. You would have a dedicated room/space at both of these properties. For the right candidate, they could still choose to live at home in either Vernon or Nanaimo, but they would have to live with us while we travel to the other houses. We also spend a lot of time in the City of Vancouver. When the opportunities arise, we would also like someone that is available to travel with us as well. The au pair will primarily be responsible for assisting with the care of our two-year-old son, as well as providing support with other household tasks. The job would start with a 2-month plus stay at our property on Vancouver Island. After that, we would be looking to relocate to Vernon in the Fall and stay there for a longer period. Key Responsibilities: - Engage with and supervise our two-year-old son in various activities, including playtime, developmental exercises, and outings. - Prepare and serve meals and snacks for our son, adhering to any dietary preferences or restrictions. - Assist with light household chores such as tidying up communal areas, children's laundry, and meal preparation. - Accompany the family on outings and excursions, providing additional support and supervision as needed. - Foster a nurturing and supportive environment for our son, promoting his emotional and social development. Qualifications: - Previous experience working with toddlers and young children, either as a nanny, babysitter, or au pair. - Genuine passion for childcare and a desire to positively impact the lives of children. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with children of varying ages. - Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the needs and schedules of a busy household. - Valid driver's license . - First aid and CPR certification preferred. Our daughter is 7 months old and an absolute delight! I'm starting to slowly go back to work and need care two days/week. I work at home, so I'm available in a pinch! She still takes several naps a day, so we would love it if we could find someone willing to do a little light housework, too! We are a young family in ladysmith currently trying to find a part time live in nanny to help with care for mostly our 2 year old son. My wife and I both work shift work, which is 2 weeks away - 2 weeks home, and hers is 2 days -2 nights - 4 off. The care would be needed for only the 2 weeks that I will be away at work, and we will need someone to either live in with us full time or just for the 4 on schedule. They all enjoy the outdoors, learning, doing activities, dancing, art, and play. The role primarily entails care of the children, keeping them engaged, snack/meal prep for them as necessary (light housework like keeping space tidy, folding laundry, food prep - as time permits). Info and Requirements: 1. We are looking for casual childcare (2 to 3 days a week/ 15 to 20 hours per week). We would love someone who could also do the occasional evening/weekend/holiday. 2. The health and safety of our children is paramount. Our 6-year-old is high risk due to a heart condition (it does not affect his care), so we can only consider caregivers that take sickness safety precautions seriously. :) 3. References and First Aid /CPR Required (we are happy to pay for the course if you need to take it!). 4. We require a minimum of 2 years of experience and experience with young children. My friend Maddy and I are looking for a nanny to watch our two wonderful boys when we return to work in January. We are looking for someone to provide a fun and safe atmosphere, who enjoys playing outside, a good dance party, and going on adventures! Both boys will be about 1 year old and are most often described as “very chill and ridiculously cute” babies . We are looking for 3 days/week of care, from 7:30-3:30. Infant CPR/First Aid, a clean driving record and access to your own vehicle, and experience with infants is required. I am looking for someone to come and watch my 2 year old son on the occasional night. It will likely only ever be a Friday Saturday or Sunday evening. My house is in yellowpoint(rural Ladysmith). I plan to have him in bed or sleeping before I leave so you will mostly just be sitting and listening for any issue. He is a great sleeper and usually sleeps through the evenings without issue. You must have a vehicle but a car seat will be left if you don’t already have one just in case. I would prefer to meet before you come over. Please let me know if you have any questions.
