This is for elderly car, not child care. My mother is 65 years old, with stage 4 lung cancer metastasized to the brain. She has broken her right arm, and is unable to stand up from the couch or her bed by herself. She needs help walking to the bathroom with her walker, and pulling her pants/underwear down (since she only has one arm at the moment). Otherwise, may need help being wiped on the toilet. Lastly, depending on the time of day, may need her meal heated up (I will have it prepared in the fridge) and served to her. She may need some water or ask for a small task to be done here and there. Just essentially be with her and help her with what she needs while I am not home. - Able to help her on the toilet to wipe and pull down/up her pants. - Able to help her up from the couch/bed. She is quite strong but just needs a little help. - Able to warm up her meal and serve it to her. - Able to help her with any small task she may ask for or with any small technology questions she may have on her tablet or phone or tv (she is sometimes forgetful as she has received full brain radiation for her brain tumors which has therefore affected her memory and "sharpness" in basic understanding).

This care would include preparing and/or giving meals, diaper-change, bath, doing outdoor activities (going for walks, going to the park, to the library library, playing in the alley, and from time to time attending special activities), nap, keeping toys tidy and educating the child to do the same, reading books, encouraging child's autonomy and most important: being interested in the child; - during nap time and down time, time allowing, helping with parent work such as: --> cooking (for example, the evening's dinner; cooking/preparing snacks for the children, cutting fruits and veggies, etc.) - we are omnivores but try to eat mostly vegetarian during the week --> keeping the kitchen and toys tidy --> if need be, helping with the laundry - small errands at our nearby small grocery shop (5 minutes walk) - care for the 2 year old once the siblings are back home and occasionally, help with supervising the sibblings (making sure they wash their hands, complete their back from school routine and start their homework) or go out with the 2 year-old when siblings come home. - occasionally: pick-up some of the children from school or eventually the 2 year-old from daycare (in Outremont, a 20 minute walk or 15 minute walk/bus ride). -optional: if available stay later in the evenings when parents have events/outings or when children's activities finish later. Proposed schedule is approximately as indicated but for the time being is relatively flexible and can be adapted .
