ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our family is looking for a very specific individual to join us as a nanny. We are seeking someone who loves children, thrives with being busy and is kind and responsible. We are hoping to find someone who sees this as much more than just a job, but as a place to feel at home and to be involved in the development of 2 amazing children and 1 teenager.
We are looking for an ongoing part-time nanny that is live out, and we are looking to start someone immediately.
Initially, the position would start with approximately 16-20 hours per week. We would need help 2-3 times per week as well as an overnight stay, and this role requires some evenings and weekends. If it is a good fit, we would be open to increasing the number of hours over time to a full-time position. While it’s not required, if you are able to consider a live-in full-time position in the future, that would be a benefit as well.
Your primary responsibility would be assisting with the ongoing care and minding of the children. You could also assist with light housekeeping, cooking and meals, laundry, and various tasks for our busy family. We are also members of the Calgary Winter Club, so you would be able to take the children occasionally to participate in sports and activities.
Wages will be determined based on experience and suitability to the position, as well as the scope of duties and responsibilities you are willing to take on.
The ideal person for this role is passionate about having a meaningful career in child care, and we are committed to helping our nanny reach their own personal and professional goals.
ABOUT US:
We are a very kind and loving family who is looking for the same in our nanny. We live in north-west Calgary near the Foothills Hospital and the University of Calgary.
We are a blended family with 3 children:
– a 13 year old son who is mature, intelligent, funny and respectful
– a 7 year old daughter who is bright, energetic, has anxiety and ADHD
– a 4 year old daughter who is smiles a lot and is quiet and calm that sometimes has separation anxiety
The younger girls in particular benefit from a lot of attention and love from someone who is caring and loves children. They require some patience and compassion since they often become overwhelmed and overstimulated. Having someone they can bond with and trust is important, so it is essential that you are attentive and present. The older boy is very responsible and can assist with babysitting and tasks when he is home as well.
Both parents are self-employed with flexible work schedules and are very active in the children’s lives. Our family places high value on being kind to each other, living a healthy lifestyle and keeping open lines of communication.
The children are with us week on/week off and the schedule is predictable. As the role becomes full-time, this means you would have breaks of several days when we don’t have the children, and we would determine a schedule that works best for everyone.
