My partner Martin and I are looking for care for 7-year old son (grade 2). The three of us and one kitten live in Inglewood, very close to the 9th Ave. shops/restaurants. Martin is a professor at U of C, and I work as a lawyer downtown. We are currently looking for someone for occasional weekend and evening babysitting, as well as possibly some after school care. We hope to find someone who can play with and engage Moses. Given his age, the care will involve more talking and reading with him, doing sports, going swimming, or doing art rather than the kind of caretaking involved with younger children. In short, we are hoping to find someone who can be somewhat of a "friend" to him. He loves to read and draw, and he loves showing off his 90s hip-hop records and talking about music. He also loves playing all kinds of ball sports and would be thrilled to go out and play soccer or baseball or have a race. Moses attends French immersion, so it would be a bonus to find someone who speaks/reads French to help with homework if necessary or even just to speak with him in French. But this is NOT required, and our primary objective is to find someone with whom we get along and who can have fun with Moses. He does love to chat though, so we would want someone who is very comfortable conversing with English, French, or German. He's equally fluent in German and English. His French is less good, but he understands everything and is just sometimes reluctant to speak French. Our household is vaccinated and ask that the caregiver is as well.
