We are looking for engaging caregivers to support an 19 year old female that is non-verbal and in a wheelchair. Client is completely dependent on a caregiver for all of her care needs. She enjoys music, going for walks, social outings, being read books and watching movies.
The main duties are:
(willing to train the right person)
-Personal care (dressing/diaper changes/showering)
-Transfer to/from wheelchair using a lift
-Administer medication/formula and water through a g-tube
-Prepare and support light meals/snacks in accordance to care plan
-Support communication - eye gaze device/yes/no board
-Provide light massage and support movement mobility to ease spasticity and tight muscles
-Support community outings, as well as, plan, lead and guide fun activities using -Calgary ACCESS bus system
-Health monitoring – following a care plan and noticing any changes in the individual’s health, recording and reporting symptoms.
Note: Small hypo-allergenic dog in the family home.
Shifts available - these shifts can be filled by one or more persons - you don't need to be interested in them all
Saturdays - 5:00 - 9:00 pm
Sunday - 1:00 - 6:00 pm
ad-hoc evening shifts
ad-hoc overnight shifts - 9 pm to 6 am during the week
